An original composition of Natalie Portman as Nina Sayers in Darren Aronofsky's "The Black Swan".

Tools used on 8X10 vellum paper:
8B & Mechanical pencil, kneaded eraser, white uni-bal gel pen and chalk for brightest highlights, toilet paper and blending stick to blend.

Drawing photographed and overlayed with color on photoshop cs2.

time: approx 6 hours.

amazing! much more interesting than the average portrait. I think I like this a little better than the b/w version, it pops more, or has a little bit more intensity. I love natalie portman, and am cursing the gods that are keeping me from seeing this movie!!!!! :tantrum:

Wow. I honestly have no words to describe this. It is so perfect. I have no idea how you can draw and shade like this, especially in colour. :O Seriously, well done. Just wow, the detail and likeness is so beautiful.

Is it an interpretation?

Thank you. The drawing is in graphite but its colored in photoshop. And I used a couple of reference pictures and composed something fresh and new, something that sort of played off what the movie was about.
